Individual sessions offer a private space to openly process thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and emotions. This processing enables you to mindfully and authentically navigate internal and external triggers with learned coping skills.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy used to treat a variety of struggles. It has proven to be exceptionally effective for trauma and related disorders, such as PTSD. EMDR targets specific memories related to symptoms showing up in one's life. Together we explore what those symptoms are and what you believe to be causing the distress. As you process traumatic experiences- past, recent, or future potential scenarios- the intent is that you become desensitized to the stimuli thus decreasing intensity or existence of symptoms.
